{within works | 5151 Broadway}

Good Morning~
Today we wanted to share some construction photos of our work at 5151 Broadway. This 260,000 s.f. building had had many owners in the past and each of its 16 floors had a different design. All with different flooring, color schemes, doors, elevator styles, lighting, floor tile.... you name it.

Our firm was hired to bring continuity and some consistency to all the floors. After months of preparation and design work we are now finally in the construction phase. We cannot wait to show you the final photos!

The key to our design was to pick a neutral palette that we could then expand on with different art/photography pieces. We added a porcelain tile on the elevator lobbies to control dirt and then we had carpet throughout. The key to doing this is making sure that you have walk off mats. A good rule of thumb is 3 walk off mats. One outside the building for big pieces (rocks etc)..the second is inside the building for smaller dirt and finally a third mat at the lobby elevators for the final pieces of dirt and dust. This way your carpets upstairs will stay cleaner longer.

Here are some exterior shots of this great building.
