Good Morning Designistas!

Hope you are enjoying these last few days of November!

Today we wanted to share with you a company that we recently were introduced to:

Explorations Playgrounds!

While visiting the ASLA Annual Meeting and Expo (American Society of Landscape Architects), we came across

this company's booth and had to stop!  Basically they can build anything that you can imagine!

Finding this company made me think of my nephews...they Love to explore..and one

of them Loves Dinosaurs and adores finding treasures and bones...

So when I saw this, I was instantly enamored!

Research Casting International works with museums all over the world and they have extensive

inventory of molds taken from a hundred different dinosaur specimens! Incredible right?

You can also find this company on Facebook by clicking Here.

"Not every town has a museum, but every town has a playground."

A bit about them from their Website:

The concept for Exploration Playgrounds was created by Research Casting International (RCI)whose expertise in natural history museums is world-renowned.  Far from child’s play, they are one of the world’s leading providers of specimen preparation, casting, mounting and have prepar ed dinosaurs for display all over the world. A few years ago, RCI unearthed the idea of applying their expertise in molding and casting to creating unique, fun, safe and educational playgrounds that are easily accessible to children. We’ve learned that:
"Not every town has a museum, but every town has a playground."

Hello Friends!

Today we wanted to share with you a few photos from one of our latest events, the Campfire Chats!

We invited Target Commercial Interiors and Patcraft Carpets to use our office and invite the world over!

Ok... not the world, but we had about 60 guests which was a lot of fun!

We transformed our back patio with amazing furniture, food, and friends!

Among our guests, were many designers, architects, builders, students from SW University of Visual Arts,

students from the Art Institute, and many fantastic reps!

Our night included a Target Dog scavenger hunt, delicious chili and cornbread, and yummy wines!

Fun was had by all! Thank you to Target Commercial Interiors for bringing everyone together!

Cheers from Within!

Hello Lovelies!

Today we're back with a special post from one of our guest bloggers, Leslie!

Enjoy!

The Miracle of Life

Hi guys!

It's hard to believe that I haven't written in over six months!
I didn't even realize this until I sat down to write and did the math.
Anyway... since May I have:
*turned 28 years young
*been enjoying some new photography adventures, including photographing my first wedding in New Orleans as second shooter for a friend
*visited my beloved NYC, and
*celebrated the birth of my very first Godchild - Benjamin:)

On September 7, 2011, Baby Ben was born 7 weeks prior to when he was scheduled to make his grand entrance into our great big world, making him a preemie.
This blog is for Benjamin as November is Preemie Awareness Month, and this coming Thursday, November 17, is World Prematurity Day.

Ben weighed 3 pounds 10 ounces at birth and measured 16-3/4" in length.
He was a tiny little guy as you can imagine!
He lived in the NICU at Lafayette General until October 7, when he was welcomed home by his parents and three older siblings.
Benjamin is doing well and now weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces and measures 19 inches in length!
It's pretty amazing to me to see just how quickly he has grown in the almost 10 weeks he has been with us.

Show a little love to Ben and his fellow preemies by learning a fact or two about them from the March of Dimes, and please visit Heart Strings and Angel Wings to see what they're doing for these little babies and their families.
And take a moment to give a little thanks for even the tiniest miracles in your life:)

Smiles from Louisiana!
Leslie

{can't live without}

{can't live without}

What a great week we're having!
For Today's post we decided to pick some of our favorite Winter items for this year! Things that we cannot live without!

I know that most designers go to work in pretty dresses or suits...
some wear dress pants and jackets while others just sport their
prettiest jewels..
That's not how things work at Within Studio.

Here, jeans are our uniform and attire of choice!
I've been wearing these skinny jeans for 2 winters in a row now and I love them! Just enough stretch for comfort but just enough support for those days that we eat the extra cookie.

As for these boots? I got them this winter and they have been amazing!
They take us from job site to lunch hour and we don't mind at all!

Our latest Winter 2012 additions are our Pop Phones from Native Union.
We absolutely adore this phone! It has made working so much easier!

I really don't like head sets, and ear buds don't work with my ears..so this is perfect! And it comes in a fantastic range of colors! We purchased 6 for the office!

The last two items that are new are the Dior Addict perfume and Dior Lip Glow.
It was time for something new and fresh and we found it!

aaaaah the smell of 2012!

As for that Lip Glow? Well, I personally never wear lipstick, so to find a gloss that works with my natural lip color just makes my year!!!

We hope that you find what you're looking for this Winter!

Cheers and Happy Shopping!

{within art deco}

Good Morning Designistas! How are you?
We have missed you! There is so much going on in the office these days that
we haven't had a chance to post a blog update!!
So to make up for it, today's collection is all about Art Deco!
Apparently the word on the street is that it's the new Winter Fashion Trend to try... I'm not sure if I will try it.. but I do adore the furniture!
What do you think?
Will you be going "Art Deco" this winter?
Would love to hear from you!
cheers!
~within
