We are so excited to share this with you!

This could be our new fantastic trend! We love that the mini skirts have pockets and the fact that you can make your dress any length you want depending on the occassion! Now that is fabulous!

The genius behind it all is Diana Lopez, a beautiful and energetic Argentine! "Her apparel is for women who know how to travel." That just sends chills! Love it!

Diana goes on to share that her clothing line was born from the desire to have clothes that can be easily packed, comfortably worn, and that can adapt to different climates and occasions. The clothes work for YOU!

{fashion + furniture}

Welcome to our latest segment, Fashion + Furniture!

What better way to start this off then the beginning of the New School Year!

It's that time again for kids and young adults ....back to School!

So for today's Wednesday post, we wanted to share a little Back to School Inspriation for all ages!

Lets do a little mix of fashion and furniture!

Our first group comes from Tea Children's Clothing +Little Nest.

Our second group, teenagers! this comes from Nordstrom + Abercrombie + CB2

We want to see some classy and fun teenagers going to school!

Why not a fun blazer to look smart and a great bright red chair to chill out on after school?

Finally, for those University goers.... a little something different... Urban Outfitters + Retro Modern

it's all about layering in college! Going from building to building..inside and outside...

you never know what temperature it will be...so layering is the key!

We mixed that with a little retro furniture.. a desk that will stay with them all through college and into the future!

Hope you have a fantastic rest of your week!

{why didn't I think of that}

For today's post...we share a little imagination and creativity!

Leave it to FLOR to think of this!

It made us think, that we could make this ourselves with any of our FLOR tiles!

In this example, they have chosen a color from the Rake Me Over series.

Here are the instructions, but you can see a video of it by clicking HERE.

We cannot wait to try this out ourselves! We'll take pics soon!

For those of you not familiar with FLOR, we highly suggest that

you check out their website ...and check out this video!

Check out how truly easy FLOR tiles are

Today is all about Fresh and Fantastic!

And we take you to Kansas City!

Peggy Noland is an amazing indie designer ...an artist!

Here is a Q & A with Peggy from Hint Blog :

Wanna tell me the basics of how you got started designing?
The path I have found is completely unexpected. I had not intended to make clothing or own a store. My major in college, after an experience working in New Delhi, was Religious Studies. Then I applied for the Peace Corps and didn't get in, and now I am here.

Why stay in Kansas City?
I have a retail store here that I am in love with, and it completely changes every four to six months: the environment, the clothing and otherwise. The newest installation is floor-to-ceiling Polyfil. We wanted to confuse the typical idea of what retail is so we lowered the ceiling four feet—good or bad, comfortable or not. Other than my store, Kansas City is a weird place to be. I stay focused and inspired here. A community that supports its artists is hard to find, and harder to leave. If you can get here, and if you can tap into this energy, you’ll see an incredible ambition—perhaps spiraling from an angry, even jealous boredom that attracts and demands attention. When you find yourself in a city whose energy isn't particularly invested in its youth culture, you find your source of creativity is completely unique and, perhaps more importantly, unaffected.

What's the proper name of your retail store, and what’s in it? Do you actually sell garments made of that Polyfil stuff?
Oh yeah, babe! People think it's weird, or a joke, or stupid—and I guess it kind of is all of those things. The name of the store is Peggy Noland—Kansas City, although there is no name on the window.

Word on the street is you make a lot of your own prints. Is that true?
Yes ma'am! It's true!

It seems like you're into giving form to freeform materials. Is this something you do consciously?
No, I guess not, although there is an intentional sculptural element to what I do. “Soft sculpture” is a category that many of my designs fit into.

You teach at an art school?
I’ve just accepted a teaching position at the Kansas City Art Institute. I'm the Sewn Construction teacher. I'm replacing a woman who has been teaching in the Fibers department for some time now, so I have big shoes to fill. Also this year I'm collaborating with a number of artists. Of particular interest is a capsule collection with Malcolm Stewart and Bec Stupac of the Brazilian collective avaf [assume vivid astro focus]. It's an expansion of personal work for all of us, with an emphasis on the unwearable wearable.

Let’s expand on the topic of the unwearable wardrobe. What's the point? I ain't being sassy, I'm just asking questions like a journalist. How the hell would you sell this stuff? Know what I mean?
I like sass, girl! Yeah, I get what you're saying. These pieces appeal to a customer who's an art collector more than a ready-to-wear buyer. The design and price reflect that. Having a retail space in Kansas City has been challenging, but the challenge isn't finding a customer. Customers exist here, there just aren't many of them. It's been an “If you build it, they will come” experience.

{inspiring architecture}

We recently came across this 10,000 s.f. addition and had to share it with you!

Isn't it amazing? Thought you would enjoy something a little different.....

Here's a quote from their website:

"Working with Crawford Architects in Kansas City, Zahner has raised the bar for architecture in Kansas City with an artistic facade on its own building. Zahner engineered and produced the exterior facade for the new expansion, dubbed "Cloud Wall," a series of fins which runs along the side of the new 10,000 square-foot addition. Crawford Architects' Stephen Colin, Michael O'Donnell, and Stacey Jones worked along-side Zahner engineers, designers, and Bill Zahner himself to develop an avant-garde billowing curtain wall of glass and aluminum.

The system that Zahner developed to produce this interlocking facade is part of the Inverted Seam™ Glass suite of panelized dry-set glass systems. Part of the genius of this product is its quick installation process: each glass panel is fitted with Drop&Lock™ Hardware for a quick fit into the aluminum framework via male & female connections.

After the new facility nears construction, Union Sheet Metal workers at Zahner will use the space to produce massive ZEPPS™ assemblies which were previously difficult to build due to size restrictions. The new wing features a ceiling that is 16' higher than the already high ceilings of the existing facility. The interior height of the new facility measures just under 40' tall."
