We recently came across this article from Hospitality Design Magazine on a New York nightspot in the Meatpacking District. Chris Sheffield (SL Design) was the designer of the space, wanting to create a space that people would "love to hang out in".
Above is a photo of the main room. Sheffield mixed mid-century modern with early 20th century industrial and vintage found objects.
"People are reminded of a friend's parent's basement form the 70's"

The Library: tons of pattern and color.

Coat Check...wow... I'm loving it!

Pool Table Room: they installed chalkboards with hand-stained belting canvas frames..there is a vintage barber's chair and a life-size horse lamp...ha! I love that detail!

Seating Vignette: Stone, brick, concrete and reclaimed barnwood panels for the ceiling and walls.
